November 1976 (5th Post): Cindy arrives from her stay in Ottawa & at first refuses to move into the house I rented; her growing negativity about the place has no logical foundation, since I have the skills to fix it up however she would like.

November 1976 (4th Post): I meet a catholic nun, Sister Anastasia Moore, who admits she didn’t know Jesus till recently, when she had a rebirth experience.

November 1976 (3rd Post): The pastor’s wife flirts with me; Cindy continues to wait for me to rent us a place; I rent a 13 room house as a place of ministry for the poor kids and homeless in an impoverished area of St. John’s Newfoundland.

November 1976 (2nd post): Late September we hitchhiked across Canada with baby Zoe, to return to Newfoundland. Due to a bad cold, Cindy and Zoe stayed in Ottawa while I went on to find work and a place in St. John’s.

Early November, 1976: Cindy and I and our newborn move to Nelson, BC, then to Creston, BC, looking for work and a place to live. I reflect on Christian hypocrisy, especially their silence and inaction.

March 1976: We arrive at Eric’s farm and are offered a burned out, uncleaned cabin as our home. We are devastated and even more so now that we’ve realized Eric, though a nice guy, has on rose-colored glasses that often keep him from seeing things as they are.
